IT Raids on Sasikala: Tax evasion on income of 1,430 crore detected

Chennai, November 14: As we knew that, The Income Tax officials have raided, jailed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, her relatives and associates in recent days.

In this regard, the officials have exposed investments in properties worth Rs 1,430 crore,Rs 7.14 crore cash and jewelry worth Rs 5 crore were seized said a senior I-T official here on Monday.



The officers have also seized a considerable amount of diamond jewelry from various premises, which is yet to be valued. Sixteen bank lockers have been frozen so far, added the official.

"This is not the final figure. We are still evaluating more documents and the figure could change. But we have concluded the raids and are now scrutinizing the documents that our team found during the five-day search operation at 187 locations," said a senior I-T official.
