Centre releases Rs 70.23 Crores for Amrut scheme in Telangana

New Delhi, Nov 13: The Union Govt has sanctioned Rs 70.23 crore to the Telangana state under Amrut scheme as the first installment of the Central assistance of Rs 351.15 crore. These funds are to be utilized for projects related to water supply, sewerage, and parks in Amrut cities.

The total approved size of the state annual action plan (SAAP) is Rs 702.98 crore for the remaining mission period extending to 2020.

The Centre said that the payment was being released on the basis of estimated project cost and any excess or shortfall would be adjusted in the second installment.

The Centre said that as per the mission guidelines, the state government is required to release Central assistance funds along with state share to the nodal account of the state mission within one month or interest would be levied.
