ASEAN Summit discusses security of Indo-Pacific region

Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) meetings took place in Manila on Saturday. India, United Nations, Japan, and Australia are the major quadrilateral group among the ASEAN countries. This group wants free, open, prosperous, and inclusion of Indo-pacific region.

Indian PM Narendra Modi has attended the Philippines President's Rodrigo's dinner had a meeting of short duration with US President Donald Trump. PM Modi who is regarded with respect by so many nations, has met Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Chinese PM Li Keqiang and Malaysian PM Mazib razan .

The discussions of PM with leaders were centered around Cooperation, peace promotion, stability and prosperity among this highly connected region.

The strategy of America in South Asia and Asia Pacific are almost similar to India. The coinage of the word Indo-pacific instead of Asia-Pacific seems to attribute of more importance to India in this region.

Even the four powerful group deny the connection with China, it is invariably important to note the growing Chinese power in the ocean.India has also discussed its Act East policy to promote better coordination among the countries.
