Entrusting Aadhar Services to POST-Offices

Central Govt postal department has a huge network in our country. Our PM long back expressed his idea about using this to maximum advantage in disbursing public facilities.

Of late Aadhar has become an inevitable necessity in any citizens life.Even children's admission to the school is also demanding for that. Unique identification development authority of India (UIDAI) initiated this programme under the mentorship of Nandan Nilekani. The fingerprint and it is recording method is beyond duplication and it is unique for any person, The problems of illegal entry from other countries , misappropriation in the name of others etc. Problems can be eliminated with this Aadhar System.

As this is now maintained by private agencies some unscrupulous elements are giving scope to malpractices and such instances require caution. So now the responsibility is entrusted to postal department.

Though banks were asked for the same they explained their inability. In Telangana already some post offices on experimental basis have taken up the task of some changes and additions in present Aadhar cards.

Hereafter the PO's will have trained staff to record Aadhar cards as well as the changes whenever necessary. The private agencies may be kept aside and POS in the small member as a pilot basic will start this service.

The facilities may be extended based on the sucess of pilot project. It is proposed to levy Rs 25/ for changes such as address etc and Rs 50, for new enrolment of the Aadhar card. Let us hope the doubts and suspicions in this matter will subside with this for the general public.
