Hyderabad, Nov 11: The Telangana State Government Plans Mono Rail Project For Cyberabad to improve connectivity & cut down commute time in the IT hub of Hyderabad
"We have started working on the monorail for this area," said IT & Industries Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, while addressing the 5th Facilities Management Council Summit.
He said, while the Metro Rail touches the fringes of Cyberabad, the monorail will service a large part of the area, not only of Cyberabad, which includes Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, & Financial District, but also new areas in the neighborhood such as Tellapur & Kokkapet.
The monorail would be the "best & most efficient" solution, the government had studied monorail in Gurugram, near Delhi, he said.
He said,"We feel that there is a bigger justification for putting a monorail in Cyberabad. The project will be happening soon."
Mr. Ranjan, who was addressing a meeting of Facilities Management Council, said several measures were being undertaken to improve infrastructure and smoothen traffic flow in the city.
He admitted that rush hour traffic had become a nightmare and the road and drainage infrastructure were unable to withstand the heavy rains recently.
