Former MLA China Mallaiah passes away

Hyderabad, November 11: Former MLA and Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Desini China Mallaiah passed away at Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here in the wee hours on Saturday while undergoing treatment due to prolonged illness.

He was elected four times legislator from Indurthi constituency, formerly from Karimnagar district.

He is 87 and survived by wife, two sons and four daughters.

His funeral will take place in the afternoon, party sources said.

He served to CPI for five decades, he resigned from the party in 2000 for the formation of Telangana state. He has worked with KCR at the time of TRS party formation

He has worked hard on the welfare of Kallu Geetha workers in Joint Andhra Pradesh. He is also one of the founders of the state Kallu geetha Workers Union. Though he was elected four times as legislator, he has lived a normal life. He has a good name among the others.He was elected to the Gramapalli village of Chiruramammadi Mandir in Karimnagar District from 1957 to 1978 and has been elected 21 times.

In a message, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed his deep sympathies over the death of Mallaiah.
