German nurse kills 106 patients; revived some to look heroic

A German nurse arrested in 2015 has been found guilty of at least 106 murders of patients which he reportedly committed out of ‘boredom’. As per reports, the toll could rise as further investigation is underway.

Identified as 41-year-old Niels Hoegel, he committed the crimes when he worked at two hospitals between 1999 and 2005. He was already awarded a life-sentence in 2015 when the court found him guilty of two murders and four counts of attempted murder or bodily harm on patients who were admitted in ICU of Delmenhorst hospital.

In August this year, the police further revealed that following exhumations and analyses, it was found that Hoegel had murdered over 90 other patients.
On Thursday, 16 more deaths were attributed to the notorious nurse who literally played with lives of the patients under intensive care.

Hoegel reportedly confessed to have injected the patients with drugs to cause heart failure or circulatory collapse, only with the motive to revive them to look heroic in front of his peers. He reportedly said he used to feel devastated when he could not revive the patients.
