AP Govt to install digital classrooms in all high schools

East Godavari, Nov 7: The Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said on Tuesday that digital classrooms would go a long way in ensuring effective learning among students as such the state government was making every effort to open digital classrooms in all high schools in a phased program.

Addressing a function after inaugurating the digital classroom in Zilla Parishad high school at AV Nagaram, his native village in Thondangi Mandal of Tuni Assembly constituency 60 kms from here on Tuesday, he said, teaching utilizing the IT technology in digital classrooms in the schools would help the students enabling them of better understanding of the subjects to secure good results.

Each digital classroom will cost Rs.1.45 lakhs of which the government would provide Rs.1 lakh and the balance is the donor's contribution. It is proposed to establish 646 digital classrooms in the district by next April end. Already 325 such digital classrooms were opened, he added.

Referring to the measures initiated to promote school education, the Minister said that 467 additional classrooms were proposed to be constructed under hybrid annuity mode. Leveling of 701 low lying area schools was also proposed utilizing funds under the NREG scheme, he added.

Later the Finance Minister has inaugurated additional classrooms in the ZP high school AV Nagaram constructed at a cost of Rs.5.80 lakhs. Yanamala Krishnudu Chairman Tuni agricultural market committee and N. Abraham DEO were among those attended.
