Paradise papers :panama team to probe the doccuments leaked

New Delhi Nov 7: The Government on Monday announced that a multi-agency team probing panama papers would also probe the paradise papers -documents exposed by the ICIJ Journalists.

The agency would contain the following departments: CBDT, IT, Enforcement Directorate ED, RBI and the Financial Intelligence Unit. CBDT Chairman Sushil Chandra would head the department.

Paradise papers are the documents which expose how people and companies established offshore enterprises to launder the money.



Earlier finance minister Arun Jaitley told that "the publication was a great step because it shows that nothing remains a secret.With this secrecy of tax heavens and transactions done through them has been smashed."

Meanwhile, SEBI has said that it would also probe the cases if required.
