Paradise papers- Documents blow the lid of Offshore companies

New Delhi Nov 6: The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has once brought out paradise papers - the documents to shun the light on offshore entities and there
usage for money laundering, avoiding taxes and round-tripping of funds and conversion of the black money into white.

Indian investigative partner Indian express has brought out these papers and the documents reveal the data exposed by Bermuda’s Appleby and Singapore's Asiaciti.These firms help companies to set up offshore entities and shell companies.



# Among the 180 countries represented in the data, India ranks 19th in terms of the number of names.

# 714 Indians in the tally.

# Some of the companies are facing CBI and other investigations such as Sun-TV-Aircel-Maxis case,Essar-Loop 2G case, Rajasthan ambulance scam - Ziquista Healthcare (Sachin Pilot and Karti Chidambaram were early Honorary/Independent Directors of the firm respectively),
CBI case against YSR Congress Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Paradise Papers is the fourth collaborative investigation into offshore and banking assets done by The Indian Express with the ICIJ.Earlier in April 2016, Panama papers have been leaked and this resulted in the ouster of Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif.
