Corruption-A Moral issue and not political will

Morality, ethics are the basic qualities that a human needs to survive in this ever changing fast paced world. These qualities may be taught in the schools or maybe inculcated into the child by parents and grandparents via stories or epic tales such as Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Many people believe that these values would offer them a guidance when they face tough situations. However, some feel that these are not mandatory and are not prescribed by the law as so many people forget these values and behave worse than cruel animals at times.

The extension of not having moral values in many fields leads to corruption and it is called by various names in the various field. Generally favoring relatives is called nepotism and committing fraud by using the power and authority is called corruption.

However, the scale of corruption varies at various levels and the political leaders face the axe of being caught always looms them because they are under constant gaze by media and public. The medium level corruption by various public servants is rampant because they hold the key posts for a long time unlike public representatives and they utilise the system for its suitability and they play a key role in a systematic way.

However many governments have taken steps to reduce the political corruption by bringing transparent auction mechanisms and taking various steps.however many steps taken by the government with good intent are always blocked by corrupt officers in the name of rules and regulations.

Currently, the present government has tried to tackle this problem by streamlining the process, reducing procedures, abolition of old laws however a lot needs to be done by changing mindset and this effort would lead to cleansing the system as the top to bottom approach is the best way to tackle the core issue.
