Indian Women Hockey team wins Asia Cup

Japan Nov 5: Indian Women Hockey team has won the Asia Cup by defeating China in a 5-4 Shootout in the final which was held today.This is the second Asian cup Indian women won after they have won against Japan in 2004.

India managed to hold off China 5-4 in a shootout in the final in Kakamighara, Japan. The team has defeated defending champions Japan 4-2 in the semi-final to make the final. The team had also beaten China 4-1 in the group stages.



Both the teams secured 1-1 after the regular time ended and the team won 5-4 in a shootout. Indian player Navjot Kaur has scored a goal.India has qualified for 2018 Women's hockey world cup with a win during the start of the tournament and this win would boost the confidence.
