EX-TMC leader Mukul Roy joined BJP today

Mukul Roy, the suspended Trinamool Congress leader has finally joined BJP.

Today, Mukul Roy joined his new party in presence of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, party general secretary and West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Swapan Dasgupta.

Welcoming Roy into the party, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Mukul Roy expressed his desire to join BJP without any conditions. We welcome him enthusiastically. We are confident BJP will expand in Bengal due to his experience in organisational work".

Mukul Roy handled the Ministry of Railways in the previous UPA government after Mamata Banerjee removed party MP Dinesh Trivedi.

Mukul Roy said, "TMC couldn't have been formed without the support of the BJP. Mamata Banerjee was a member of Atalji's Cabinet. I believe BJP is not a communal force, it is a secular force".
