USFDA to lift ban on Divis Laboratories

Vizag Nov 3: In a major relief to a company the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) is all set to lift the import ban it has issued on Vishkapatnam plant of Divis Laboratories Ltd.

The company has said that "the lift of ban would pave way for exports to the US market.".The company has informed the decision via stock exchange filing.Shares of the company increased by 17 % yesterday.

Earlier in March, the US drug regulator had issued an import alert to the company’s unit located in Vizag after an inspection between 29 November and 6 December 2016.

Divis labs manufacture various generic drugs to other countries and the US FDA earlier imposed the ban as the company didn't comply with good manufacturing practices.

The company hopes that the lift of ban would ensure that the company regains its market and earns a profit as its revenue decreased because of the ban.
