International skill Development -A boon for economy

Ever since Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power at center with a massive majority, it is trying to show its stamp on governance and people welfare oriented programs. The concern for the general public is anyway a matter of appreciation. Currently, the ruling party is focussing more on the youth. The government aims to train more youth with skills so that their employment potential increases and there earning potential will rise.

Prime Minister Modi has started Pradanmanthri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)/skill India mission with a mission to train the youth with skills in various fields. The government has decided to earmark Rs 12,000 cr expenses by 2020 to impart international skills to 1 crore people.

The Union government has created a skill development ministry and the ministry has tied up with various institutes to set up skill development centers (SDC).Students and youth would be trained in these centers and a certificate would be given after they have completed the course.

Currently, the government has tied up with Japan and Belarus for this mission. Under the agreements signed nearly 1 lakh, people would be sent to Japan and they would be trained in the Internet of things (IOT) development, Software programming.The entire cost would be borne by the Japan government and these youth would return to India after 3 years and they would set up their own enterprises to boost the economy.

The government has also planned to set up 66 international skill centers across the country where international teachers would impart skills to Indian youth and the main focus would be on empowerment of women.Finally, the government hopes that Skill India mission would help a key role in the success of Make in India and Digital India mission.
