AP CM flags off Singapore trip of Amaravati farmers

Amaravati, OCT 30: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday has flagged off Singapore tour of the first batch of Amaravati farmers. Officials have said that "AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has arranged a bus for farmers to take them to International Airport at Shamshabad and they fly to Singapore from there on Monday night."

Officials have added that "farmers were shortlisted based on several criteria, including interest in becoming "entrepreneurs" and starting their businesses. Over 150 farmers have applied out of 25,000 farmers who have land pooled 35,000 acres of the land for the development
of capital city".



"Farmers are paying for the airfare, the AP government is taking care of the rest, including the stay at a four-star hotel and travel within.'they added.

Sources said that the trip is aimed at making farmers to learn the best practices in business and entrepreneurship. The farmers will visit Singapore in three batches. The first batch is going to visit several places for four days in the country.
