Suresh Prabhu: Raised the H-1B visa issue strongly

India on Saturday raised the H-1B visa issue with the US “very strongly”, said Union Minister Suresh Prabhu. “The US economy has immensely benefited by Indian IT professionals and the White House will find it hard to cope up with reality,” asserted Prabhu.

Due to the promise of President Trump of providing the jobs to Americans first the norms in H-1 B and L1 visas were tightened.

Addressing the media post the first US-India bilateral Trade Policy Forum (TPF) under the Trump administration, Prabhu said,” We raised the H-1B and L1 visa issue on a strong note.”

As per the current rules, Indians in the IT sector working in the States on H-1B visas do not get back their hard- earned contribution to Social Security, which runs into at least more than USD 1 billion per annum.
