Mukul Roy to join BJP

Mukul Roy, who had resigned from the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress earlier this month had been reportedly showing interest in joining BJP.

According to a senior BJP leader Mukul Roy has expressed his wish to join the his party.

"Mukul Roy has expressed his wish to our state (West Bengal) unit for joining the BJP. The state unit of the party will take its decision on the matter. If any suggestion is sought from the unit, we will provide," BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said.

He had quit the party and resigned his Rajya Sabha seat citing "lack of principle" as his compulsion to leave the Trinamool of which he was a founding member.

But was called a traitor by the Trinamool's Secretary General Partha Chatterjee
