Harish Rao: Nagarjuna Sagar modernization works completed by June next year

Hyderabad, Oct 27: The Telangana Minister for Irrigation, T Harish Rao on Friday informed the Assembly that the modernization works of Nagarjuna Sagar project canal taken up with World Bank Assistance would be completed by June next year.

Replying to question raised by members in the House, Mr. Rao said about 90 percent of the work is completed and remaining work would be completed by June 2018.

Though the project was started in 2008 during the Congress rule, only 33 percent modernization works were completed till 2014, the Minister said and claimed that his government had completed over 90 percent works in 3-years.

The Telangana Assembly session has been adjourned to Monday.
