Three arrested in Swiss couple attack case

In the Swiss couple attack case Three out of the four accused have been arrested. The accused were identified from the pictures which they forcibly clicked with the Swiss couple. The accused are three minor boys The government expressed concern over the incident and sought a report from the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Quentin Jeremy Clerc and his girlfriend Marie Droz, who had come to India on September 30, were on Sunday stalked, harassed and then attacked with sticks and stones. While Clerc was left with a fractured skull, a brain clot and hearing impairment, Droz suffered multiple injuries and is nursing a broken arm. The Swiss couple alleged bystanders did not help them and instead recorded videos of the brutal attack. Droz rubbished the reports that they were kissing, which according to police provoked the group.



Recounting the horror, Clerc said, “When my girlfriend raised an alarm, people gathered around us, but by then I and my girlfriend had sustained injuries.” Additional Director General of Police Chandra Prakash said the couple was found lying injured and bleeding on a roadside after some locals alerted police about them.
