AP Health Minister: AIIMS hospital will completed by 2018

Vijayawada, Oct 26: The Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has asserted on Wednesday that the first phase of construction of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) would be completed by December 2018.

The Minister along with District Collector Kona Sasidhar and officials of the Health, Water Supply, Roads and Buildings Departments and Electricity reviewed the construction of buildings at Mangalagiri.

Speaking to media persons, the Minister said that efforts were on to begin admissions in AIIMS by June 2018.

The Students would be attached to the government hospitals in Vijayawada, Eluru, and Tenali.

Giving details of the construction, Dr. Srinivas said that construction of outpatient block and residency building is expected to be completed by December 2018, in the second phase, construction of hospital and medical college block would be completed and in the third phase equipment would be purchased.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) unit which is now located on the premises of Old TB Sanatorium would be relocated within six months, he said.

District Forest Officer K.Rammohana Rao, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Madhavi Sukanya, SE, SPDCL, Jayabharath Rao were present.
