AP High Court Division at Brisk pace

NewDelhi OCt 25: The Process of Bifurcation of common High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is moving at brisk pace.The Central government has approved the allocation of high court judges to both the sates .Recently the judges have submitted their options and the supreme court collegium has forwarded the proposal to the Union Law Ministry and the ministry has accepted the proposal.

Currently, there are 61 judges allocated to the common high court
# After Bifurcation 37 judges would be allocated to AP High Court.
# 24 judges would be allocated to Telangana High court

Currently, 31 judges are working in the common high court and the judges have been bifurcated according to ratio of 60:40 (AP: TS)

# 12 judges were allocated to Telangana
# 17 judges were allocated to Andhra Pradesh
# 2 more judges allotment is pending

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh government has decided to take a building on lease in Amaravati to house the Andhra Pradesh High Court. and officials are expected that temporary high court would be set up in next 10 months.
