Rangoli of Deepika as Padmavati destroyed by Karni Sena

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati was once again attacked by Karni sena members and VHP members. On Wednesday, a rangoli of Deepika as Padmavati was made by local artist at a mall in Surat. The art took 48 hours to make but a mob suddenly vandalised a rangoli and thrashed the artist.

Five persons, including four members of outfit Karni Sena and one from Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), were arrested today for allegedly vandalising the rangoli that was inspired by Padmavati, the police said.

Deepika Padukone was very upset with this incident and finally opend up about the attacks being carried out on Padmavati, on Wednesday she said that she was heartbroken by the attack on a rangoli inspired by her upcoming film Padmavati, and drew Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani's attention to it.

"Absolutely heart breaking to see the recent attack on artist Karan and his artwork! Disgusting and appalling to say the least! (sic)" she tweeted along with a photograph of the rangoli.

"This has to stop now and action must be taken smritiirani," she said on Twitter.
