North Korea started to construct hotel of doom

The hotel Ryugyong which is also known as 'the hotel of doom' was project first conceived by present ruler Kim Jong-un’s grandfather Kim Il-Sung in 1987. But was dropped due to economic issues.

As per a report, satellite images of construction trucks have been seen in the area, indicating that the construction of 'Hotel of Doom' has been started.

The Ryugyong Hotel, also nicknamed the Hotel of Doom, is a 105-storey structure shaped like a pyramid. As per the original plan, the hotel was to accommodate casinos, nightclubs and Japanese lounges, the report claimed.

The Hotel was set to become the tallest hotel in the world and the seventh largest skyscraper in 1989. It cost approximately Euro 470 million till date but has not opened up the gates for any guest yet.
