Maria Sharapova losses to Magdalena Rybarikova

After returning from a doping ban this year, Sharapova won her first WTA title the Tianjin Open. But her first appearance at her home country Russia, WTA event which came just two days after she won Tianjin Open was disappointing, as she lost to Magdalena Rybarikova. On Tuesday, at the Kremlin Cup Sharapova lost 7-6(3), 6-4 to Slovakia’s Magdalena.

The five-times grand slam champion looked tired and committed several unforced errors in the first-round match as she was cheered on by a large crowd cheered who chanted “Masha! Masha!” and loudly clapping her every winner.

Even though she was unranked after returning from dope ban, many tournaments readily roped her in as a wild card entry. The World no.1 champion is now at 57th position.
