Crackers sale pickup ahead of Diwali

Mumbai OCT 17: The festival season has hit the market as the many customers have plunged to streets to buy essential items that are needed for the festival.The traders are attracting customers by offering discounts and said that trade has picked up as the festival approached.

Crackers:
Traders said that the crackers sales have been steady this year even though the prices have increased due to GST. Shop owners are offering discounts on Fancy crackers and Light-emitting crackers.They said that many people are preferring Indian made and they have bought 90 of stock from Sivakasi as they offer good quality rather than Chinese.They have also said that ban on the sale of crackers in Delhi had little impact on sales in other parts of the country.

Lamps, Flowers and Puja Items:

Many people are currently busy in shopping the lamps made from clay and other items such as flowers and fruits and pooja items.Traders said that the items of these rates are reasonable and more people are satisfied at the prices of these goods.

Gold/Silver
Customers have thronged to Jewellery shops to buy silver, gold and gold coins because they feel that buying these items on Dhantheras bring prosperity to the family members.

Finally, traders said that the Diwali sales have gone up and are expected to rise ahead of the festival.
