RPGS Group to invest Rs.200 Crore in Telangana

Siddipet, Oct 17: The State government has announced on Monday that the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group will invest Rs 200 crore in Telangana for their packaged food business.

The Group will set up their facility in Thoopran in Siddipet district over 20 acres to manufacture products under their Too Yummy and E-vita brands. The facility will employ about 1,000 people.

A MoU was signed on Monday during state Information Technology and Industries Minister KT. Rama Rao's visit to Kolkata.

RPSG group and Telangana state also agreed to build backward linkages to farmers and work towards establishing a local vendor base.

The minister met business leaders and investors. In the meeting with RS Goenka, Rama Rao explained state government's policies and investment opportunities. The investors showed interest and responded positively in making investments in Telangana, said a statement from the minister's office here.

Rama Rao also met Hemant Kanoria, Chairman, SREI Infrastructure Finance Company and requested him to support the proposed Industrial and food parks in Telangana.

Later, he addressed the large group of industrialists at a meeting organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and invited them to invest in the state.
