Hyderabad Oct 17: People have adjusted to the troubles caused by the demonetization but now they are facing another problem that traders are not accepting Rs 10 coins.experts have suggested the following reasons why traders are refusing to accept Rs 10 coins

Heavy weight:
Currently, Rs 10 notes are easily available and these are light in weight so traders prefer notes rather than coins

Rise of digital transactions

After demonitization with the widespread of digital platforms for transactions the demand for higher denominations above Rs 5 has reduced significantly

Fear of Fake currency
Currently, many traders fear that fake 10 coins have entered the market and it is hard for them to detect the original.

Reluctance of traders
Currently many traders such as shopping mall owners, petrol bunk dealers are reluctant to deposit the coins in banks citing various reasons and this, in turn, affected the small traders.

No space in banks
Many bank officials have said that their strong rooms are filled with demonetized notes which are yet to be shifted to RBI headquarters so they are finding no space to store the coins.

However, the RBI has said that There are no fake Rs 10 coins and It is a legal denomination and experts said that people can file a case against any person if they don't accept the Rs 10 coins.
