AP Govt launches new policy to boost IT Sector

Vijayawada, Oct 16: The Andhra Pradesh Government has introduced 'Designated Technology Park (DTP) policy 2017-2020' to boost the IT sector here on Monday.

The Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stressed that Andhra Pradesh is taking a lot of initiatives to encourage IT companies post the bifurcation, and said, "Andhra Pradesh already brought Information Technology Policy, Innovation and Startup Policy, Cyber Security Policy and Global In-house Policy for the development of IT in the state."

The Chief Minister informed that the policy aims to roll out incentives on providing office spaces for IT companies and give rental guarantee for real-estate developers for building the office spaces.

Chandrababu said the government has been able to bring down the approval time for office spaces for IT companies from one year to 50 days, and would further reduce it to 21 days.

"The state aims to create 1 lakh IT jobs by 2019," added the Chief Minister.
