Andhra CM to setup Light Metro train service in Vijayawada

Vijayawada, Oct 15: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister
N Chandrababu Naidu has hinted on Saturday that the Light Metro train service would be constructed in the city.

While speaking to reporters during his surprise checking of various places in the city, the Chief Minister said a decision would be taken to introduce Light Metro initially in Vijayawada and later it could be integrated with Metro rail.

The Chief Minister said he directed the officials to adopt Visakhapatnam model and regularise 50,000 houses in Vijayawada. The houses would be distributed to beneficiaries after CCLA clearance under Visakhapatnam model, where the officials would organise a meeting and distribute the houses to women along with Pasupu Kumkuma. He said around 4000 houses in Vambay colony were found incomplete.

After inspection of old government general hospital, he said additional blocks would be constructed in old government general hospital to increase bed strength. He said 12 services were outsourced in the hospital to improve services to patients.

Mr.Naidu said that the CNG terminal at old RTC bus stand would be shifted and greenery would be developed in the area to provide breathing space for public.

The Chief Minister said he had directed the officials to take up widening of Eluru road from Ramavarappadu to Gannavaram. Suggestions were received for the construction of two flyover bridges and the suggestions would be considered.
