Telangana Govt to modify Diwali Holiday

Hyderabad Oct 14: The Telangana Govt may decide today to change the Diwali Holiday.Currently, the government in the official list of holidays declared for the year 2017 has declared Oct 18 as the official holiday on Diwali and OCt 17 as the optional holiday.
However many employees, Pandits, and officials have requested the government to change the official holiday from Oct 18 to Oct 19 as they found out that no moon is Observed on 19 and the festival of Diwali would be celebrated on no moon day.
The employees have forwarded the proposal to the SP Singh the Principal Secretary and he said that he will forward it to CM KCR and the govt will take a decision soon.According to the proposal, OCt 18 would be declared as optional holiday and 19 as Diwali holiday.
