CM KCR announced comprehensive packages for Suryapet, Nalgonda

Hyderabad, Oct 13: The Telangana Chief Minister
K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced a package of comprehensive solutions on Thursday to address backwardness in areas falling under the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

The package includes a grant of Rs 75 crore for the development of infrastructure facilities in Suryapet, new district headquarters, two medical colleges one in Suryapet and another in Nalgonda, Rs 15 lakh each as a development fund for 323 Gram panchayats in Suryapet district besides Rs 10 lakh each for the development of every Lambada tandas.

He also announced modernization of Musi canal system and strengthening of the Peddadavulapalli balancing reservoir to ensure irrigation for two crops in over 3.25 lakh acres under the Musi project, besides construction of six more check dams each under Musi river and Vepuru Vagu stream.



Laying the foundation stone for the integrated collectorate complex and district police headquarters in Suryapet, The Chief Minister attributed the backwardness of Nalgonda to the unfair sharing of Krishna waters. "Injustice was meted out to Telangana by changing the location of Nagarjunasagar dam to Nandikonda from Eleswaram. The original name of the project was Nandikonda project and not Nagarjunasagar," he said.

The Seemandhra governments declared that they would bear the cost of maintenance of lift irrigation scheme on the NSP right canal serving AP districts while it made Telangana farmers pay for the maintenance of lift irrigation scheme on the left canal which is meant for TS, he said, adding that he fought many a battle against the raw deal meted out to Nalgonda and took out a march against the fluoride problem.

Finally he has said that we will construct kaleshwaram project even if 100 Uttam Kumar reddy comes to stop the project.
