Rohingya crisis: Myanmar may ask refugees-residency documents

The 'Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Developement in Rakhine' would provide measures for peaceful redevelopment of Rakhine state.

Myanmar’s embattled leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, called for national unity today and said she has created a committee that will coordinate all international and local assistance in violence-struck Rakhine state.

Suu Kyi acknowledged in a speech on state-run television that the country is facing widespread criticism over the refugee crisis, and called for unity in tackling the problem.

While Suu Kyi is discussing with Bangladesh about the peaceful return of refugees “those who are now in Bangladesh.” to Myanmar, there hasn't been any details out yet. But officials said that refugees may be asked to show residency documents to confirm their identity.
