CM KCR laid foundation stones for new collectorate buildings in Siddipet, Siricilla

Hyderabad, Oct 12: The Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has laid the foundation stone for construction of the collectorate and police commissionerate buildings in Siddipet and Sircilla, while ministers launched the works in other districts here on Wednesday.

Laying of foundation stones for the construction of administrative complexes in the new district headquarters marked the first anniversary of their formation on Wednesday.

"Except undivided AP and West Bengal, When I was in the TD, I had personally requested NT Rama Rao to create Siddipet district in the 1980s, but it did not materialize," Mr. Rao said in Siddipet.

"After the formation of Telangana state, I took a bold decision to create 21 districts out of the old 10 districts, which no one dared to do so all these years. The new districts started yielding results within a year with better administration and delivery of services for people," he said.

He said TS was leading the country with highest revenue growth of nearly 22 percent and this was possible only because of separation from AP.

Mr Rao heaped praises on minister T. Harish Rao, who represents Siddipet in the Assembly, for his hard work and commitment to the overall development of district. Mr. Rao said the welfare of people remained the utmost priority for TRS government and for this reason the government was spending nearly Rs 40,000 crore per year on welfare schemes.
