TMC Leader Mukul Roy quits Congress to Join BJP

New Delhi, Oct 12: Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mukul Roy has resigned from the party and his Rajya Sabha seat on Wednesday. The leader has met the Rajyasabha CVhairmain M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday and submitted his resignation.

He had addressed a press conference and said that "We all saw the rise of Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee’s nephew in the party. I could not raise my voice against it as the atmosphere in the party didn’t allow me to discuss the issue of dynasty politics".

Earlier he was suspended from the party for performing Anti -Party Activities. However, the leader has accused Mamata Banerjee of playing Dynasty Politics.

The leader asked that "The TMC was formed to fight against the Congress but now we see the party leadership says that nothing can be achieved without the Congress’s support. Why doesn't the party just merge with the Congress then?”

The leader has already met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other BJP Leaders and there are speculations that he may join BJP soon but he has not yet taken any decision in this regard.
