Hafiz Saeed group rejected by poll panel of Pak to contest election

The Election Commission of Pakistan after interior ministry banned group-linked with Hafiz Saeed from contesting elections.

The Milli Muslim League was banned by the Election Commission of Pakistan after interior ministry recommendation that it was “affiliated” with Lashkar-e-Taiba, a terrorist group blamed for the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed who has a $10 million US bounty on his head, a government official said. Haroon Khan, a spokesman for the commission, said a four-man panel rejected the registration of Milli Muslim League (MML) as an official political party.
