Hyderabad, Oct 11: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Ramarao has announced two more initiatives for the Internet of Things (IoT) and e-Waste management here on Tuesday.

The state government aims to implement technology applications for making a better society with economic development and zero-waste discharge in the industry. Telangana government anticipates investments to the tune of Rs.10,000 crore and 50,000 employment opportunities in next five years in IoT space.

Minister KT Rama Rao has announced two policy initiatives at an event 'i-Telangana 2017' with a theme of 'Embracing Technology, Transforming Telangana', organized by FICCI in association with Telangana ICT Department here.

KTR said the government's focus as part of IoT policy would be on medical, smart city solutions, health, logistics and agriculture technology spaces. Considering the ever-changing requirements of the industry, the state government will implement the IoT technology for the society and the business.

The state government has given in-principle approval on choosing Hyderabad, Warangal and Sircilla districts for a pilot project under IoT policy.
