Tata Shutdown Telecom Services, Layoff 5,000 Staff!

Mumbai, October 09: The Tata Group has decided to close the phone service Venture Tata Teleservices.The decision was taken by the senior officials to reduce losses in terms of wireless services.

Tata is one one the oldest in the telecom industry with 21 years in phone services venture.

The reason behind the close the firm is that there is decreasing usage of wireline connection and people are choosing the wireless connection such as mobile phones more so we are closing the firm.

From this aspect, near about 5000 people may lose their employment.Tata Teleservices also offers Sevenval packages for those who are already in the company.

Some of the employees are being transferred to other group companies, offering a voluntary retirement opportunity for those choose to the retire.
