RaghuRam Rajan features probable winners of the Nobel Prize

New Delhi Oct 7: Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan may receive Nobel prize as his name features in a list of probable winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics 2017.

The list was released by Clarivate Analytics, a company that does academic and scientific research and maintains a list of dozens of possible Nobel Prize winners based on research citations.

"Rajan is one of the six economists to make their way to the list this year. He is considered a candidate for his contributions illuminating the dimensions of decisions in corporate finance", Clarivate said.

The winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics will be announced on October 9.

The former RBI Governor has played a key role in shaping the economy and he has revived the weakened Indian Rupee, took measures to curtail inflation and he had initiated the process of resolving the Bad loan and Rising NPA in banks.

He has also warned the present government about ill effects of demonetization.He has offered to quit after he was not extended his service and his tenure ended on Sept 4, 2016.

Earlier Rajan along CEA Subramanian has published articles on USA economy and has predicted the 2008 global recession in advance.
