INS Trishul Navy commandos saved Indian vessel from pirates in Gulf of Aden.

INS Trishul MARCO commandos saved Indian vessel form piracy attempt. The Indian cargo ship, the 82,000-ton cargo carrier MV Jaga Mar,was saved by Indian Navy in the Gulf of Aden. MARCOS commandos recovered a skiff used by pirates, an AK -47 assault rifle, ammunition, ladders, and grapplers used to climb on ships.

Both the ship, and the 26 Indian crew members on board are safe, the Navy has said.

The vessel radioed for assistance at around 12.30 pm IST. The Navy on anti-piracy duty - responded immediately, Navy Spokesperson Captain DK Sharma said.

At 5:52 pm IST, the Navy said on its official Twitter account that the operation had ended.

The Gulf of Aden, is jointly policed by India, China and the combined Maritime Forces it is a 1,000 km stretch of water located between the coasts of Yemen and Somalia.
