Rajnish Kumar to replace Arundhati Bhattacharya as SBI Chairman

New Delhi OCt 4: The government on Wednesday named Rajnish Kumar as Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI). Kumar, currently a Managing Director of SBI, will succeed Arundhati Bhattacharya whose extended term ends on October 6.

"It is indeed an honor to be entrusted with the leadership of SBI at a time when India is best poised for growth," Kumar said on his elevation.

He said he looked forward to serving the bank to the best of his abilities along with the support of his colleagues.

Earlier Bhattacharya was given an extension of 1 Year by the government and the Bank under the leadership of her has successfully completed a major challenge of merging 5 subsidiary banks of
State banks and Bhartiya Mahila bank into SBI.She has also taken some crucial decesions to improve the working of the bank.
