Sharad Pawar: Indian economy falling down

Sharad Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief said that Maharashtra should not fund finances equal to Gujarat for projects which are benefiting Gujarat more.

He blamed Union government's inadequacy in implementing changes in economic policy for the country's slowed economic growth and increasing unemployment.

"The investment climate in the country is not good today and hence there are no fresh investors coming in," Pawar told reporters. "The Make in India slogan seemed to be very attractive initially but its hollowness has begun to show now," he said.

He said demonetisation and GST has taken a toll on Indian Economy. He indicated textile industry and banking sector to show the slowdown of economy.

"I think a bullet train is required between Mumbai and Delhi or Delhi and Kolkata or Mumbai and Chennai. Bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is impractical. I don't know what's the purpose behind this," Pawar said.
