Rangana Herath claims 400th Test wickets

Abudabi, October 03: Sri Lanka Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath has created several records in ICC test career with the ongoing test with Pakistan.

Rangana Herath on Monday became the first left-arm spinner in the history of Test cricket to take 400 wickets.

With this wicket to a miracle win against Pakistan in the 1st Test at Abu Dhabi.

Herath now has 400 wickets to his name from 84 Test matches.



The Sri Lankan spinner is the fourth fastest to the mark, beating the likes of Anil Kumble (85 Tests), Glenn McGrath (87 Tests) and Shane Warne (92 Tests).

His compatriot Muttiah Muralitharan remains the fastest bowler to pick up 400 wickets, a feat he achieved in just 72 matches.

Herath registered his 100th wicket against Pakistan and became the first to do so. Earlier It was Kapil Dev who collapsed 99 wickets against the Pakistan.
