Tamil Nadu: Young girls forced to live bare-chested at a temple

Young girls are being forced to live bare chested for 15 days in a temple with male priest. These bare-chested girls will be worshipped like Goddess in Madurai,Tamil Nadu. Seven minor girls have been picked up by district collector.

The girls are only allowed to wear jewellery to cover their chest. These are the girls who have not reached puberty. They will have to spend 15 days in care of a male priest.

According to the Madurai collector, parents have not been forced to send these girls to be part of this bizarre ritual.

A committee has been formed to further probe this matter.
