First woman Director General Ramasundaram attended her farewell parade

Archana Ramasundaram, the first woman Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) attended her farewell parade in Delhi today.

She spoke about the initiatives during her tenure."I am aware I have broken a glass ceiling for women in the force. I was initially apprehensive about the challenges and expectations but the tenure has been satisfactory. I have had the cooperation of my officers", said the DG.

She said apart from dealing with border security, trafficking crimes, especially involving children, was certainly a challenge.

"Apart from border security, we have now also moved to border management. Also, dealing with trans-border crimes is now on our agenda. Four integrated checkposts have been included in Bihar and West Bengal for this purpose."
