Maharashtra govt :Asks NSS volunteers to promote its schemes

Shiv Sena and the Congress attacked the BJP government for hiring NSS student volunteers to promote their schemes in Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department has roped in National Service Scheme (NSS) student volunteers for promoting state and central government schemes like 'Beti bachao, beti padhao', 'Digidhan', 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. In a Government Resolution (GR) issued on September 26, the department listed out 70 targeted guidelines or tasks that the NSS volunteers will have to achieve.

1)The things to do list
2)Adopt 3,000 villages
3)trace out-of-school children
4)raise warness on subsidy on LPG
5)raising digital awareness
6)opening bank accounts under Digidhan etc

The government has made it mandatory that these programs be undertaken during Diwali, Christmas and Summer vacations.
