Sports Ministry recommends Padma Bhushan award to PV Sindhu

New Delhi, Sept 25: The Union Sports Ministry on Monday recommended Indian Ace shuttler PV Sindhu's name for the prestigious Padma Bhushan award.
PV Sindhu has risen to the number two spot in the women's singles rankings after her stupendous run in the World Championships in Glasgow in August.
The Rio Olympic silver medalist went down fighting to Japanese shuttler Nozomi Okuhara in the title clash, settling for silver. Sindhu has been in scintillating form in the 2017 season winning the Indian Open Super Series and the Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold title.
PV Sindhu beat her arch-rival Nozomi Okuhara in the finals of the Korea Open Super Series. Recently BCCI had recommended Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the Padma Bhushan.
