Telangana Govt sanctioned Rs. 25.5 crores for Nallavagu modernization

Hyderabad, Sept 24: The Telangana government has sanctioned Rs. 25.5 crores for Nallavagu modernization, which was announced by Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao here on Saturday.

Minister T. Harish Rao had promised in the Legislative Council on October 1st, 2015, to release funds for the modernization and the GO was issued.

After the modernization work is completed an additional ayacut of 1,000 acres would come under irrigation under the Nallavagu project.

The project was constructed on Nallavagu, a tributary of Manjeera River, to provide irrigation for about 6,030 acres in the previous Sangareddy and Nizamabad districts.

"The amount would be used for the repair of structures, canals, and bunds of Nallavagu. This will bring another 1,000 acres into cultivation and benefit several farmers," Mr. Harish Rao said in a release here.
