Sushma swaraj discusses H-1B visa and DACA with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday met US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. This meeting which was conducted ahead of the visit of Jim Mattis, Defence Secretary to India, was all about Indians facing problems due to DACA policy and H-1B Visa issues.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was an American immigration policy that allowed some individuals who entered the country illegally as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for a work permit.

It was established by Barack Obama but now DACA policy is in danger and thousands of Indians are afraid of getting deported from US.

Sushma and Tillerson also discussed issues related to Pakistan, Afghanistan and counter-terrorism.
