Hyderabad Metro Rail Updates: HMR plans to conduct trail run in 2 corridors

Hyderabad, Sept 20: Here is another update of Hyderabad Metro Rail Service has unveiled.

Coming to the news is, The Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities are planning to conduct a trial run between the two metro rail stretches of the two corridors Miyapur and Ameerpet (13 km) of Corridor I and Nagole to Ameerpet of Corridor III as soon as all the construction work is completed by October 15.

Works include completion of the giant Ameerpet interchange station where the Corridor I L.B. Nagar-Miyapur line will be crossing Corridor III Nagole- HiTech city/Raidurg line on top with two interconnected overhead stations with walkways, lifts, escalators, staircases etc., plus the Begumpet station along with the street works below all along the 30-km stretch.

Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy informed the HMRL Board chaired by Chief Secretary S.P. Singh on Tuesday that this would enable inviting the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for the 'Safety Certification' of the metro rail system between Miyapur-Ameerpet and Ameerpet-Nagole stretch in November first week.

The Board members were also shown the engineering designs and the different stages of progress of urban rejuvenation work being carried out by HMR at the street level at the 24 metro stations which are on these two stretches.

The Board chairman has advised the metro rail authorities to tie up with one or two good banks for having a common ticket and smart card facility for the metro rail, RTC bus, MMTS and other modes of transport once the service gets operational in two months.

Board Members, Principal Secretary (Finance) K. Ramakrishna Rao, GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy and HMWS&S Board MD M. Dana Kishore, while appreciating the world-class concepts and designs, wanted the works to be completed in a targeted manner, keeping the proposed inauguration in view.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 30-km stretch spread across the two metro corridors on November 28 when he arrives here for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
